The Iva Tunidau-captained Wainimala Secondary School is set to lock horns with Naitasiri Secondary School in the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League’s Pherrus Trophy clash at Prince Charles Park, Nadi, tomorrow

This is the team’s first appearance in the girl’s rugby league final.

Wainimala Raiders beat Jasper Williams High School 12-0 in the semi-final last weekend.

Tunidau said they were confident of making the final.

“We lost in the quarterfinal last year, so we have moved a few bars up and want to finish this year with a bang,” she said.

 

“The girls played their hearts out and we know that it is not a walk in the park. Naitasiri will be a tough team.”

The side will be banking on dummy half Raijeli Likudrau who is solid with her tactical kicking.

The Atelia Nakalevu-captained Naitasiri Secondary School side is also preparing well for the competition.

They will be banking on Karania Koroiravudi, Arieta Naulumatua, Sala Uluidegei, and Adi Salote Nailolo to name a few.

The side defeated Ra High School 22-14 in a thriller during their semi-final clash.
