TRI-NATIONS FRIENDLIES

The Tri-Nations friendlies between the two Melanesian rivals Solomon Islands and Fiji along with the Asian opposition Hong Kong China is set for next week in Fiji.

The friendlies will take place in Suva and Lautoka Fiji from 2nd -8th September 204.

According to the schedule, Solomon Islands will face the hosts the Fiji Bula boys on September 2nd at 7 pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

The Solomon Islands will then play against Hong Kong, China on September 5th, also at 7pm in Suva before the series will conclude with Fiji competing against Hong Kong, China on September 8th at 3 pm, taking place at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

The friendlies in Suva will allow most of the Solomon Islands community coming out to watch the test matches.

The Tri-Nations tournament promises to be an exciting event, offering valuable international experience for all participating teams and thrilling football action for fans.

Meanwhile, the national team is in camp this week with warm-up games played against the National Men’s U19s at the SIFF Academy Field.

A final travelling squad will be announced later this week.

The national side are currently continuing with trainings as preparations are in full swing under the guidance of SIFF Technical director and interim coach Moses Toata.

This is to wait for the official announcement of the new national team head coach.

It is anticipated that the official announcement of the Solomon Islands new head coach will be made known anytime this week before the team jets out for Fiji.

As part of the team’s ongoing preparation – 6 out of 7 overseas based players have also confirmed availability for the upcoming FIFA International Window test matches next week.

Meanwhile, reports from Fiji said, the Bula Boys are gearing up for their preparation for the FIFA International ‘’A” Friendlies Tri-Nations Series 2024.
