Footage from Chatswood Place in Sydney’s Lower North Shore saw customers lining up well before 8.30am to get their hands on the Snow Gear Special Buys range that hit stores across the country on Saturday.

With more than 70 products starting from $4.99 and nothing over $100, it’s no surprise some stores were jam-packed.

“Just back from the snow sale. They had a guard keeping an eye on everyone!” one woman who shopped at Aldi Chermside in Queensland wrote in a Facebook group dedicated to the retailer.

“Well that is the way! Since people attack people for toilet paper!!! Imagine for snow equipment and clothes!!! Good on you Aldi!! Take precautions sooner than later!!!!” another person wrote.

A shopper from NSW said it was also busy at her local store in Katoomba.

An Aldi spokesperson told news.com.au they are not surprised by the frenzy the sale has created.

“Our annual Snow Gear Special Buys are always very popular,” the spokesperson said.

Rodney Balech, group director for National Buying at Aldi described this year’s range as “better than ever”.

“Whether you’re planning a solo ski trip or a friendly snowball fight with the family, Aldi’s Snow Gear range offers everything you need at an affordable price, without compromising on quality,” he said.

The retailer also dropped more unisex options for kids to help parents save on buying new sizes each year.

“While price and affordability are on everyone’s minds this year, we have also ensured that every item in our range meets the highest benchmarks,” Balech said.

Mr Balech said they work with their partners across the globe to create “high quality products across every layer”.

One TikTok user took to the platform to boast about her $35 Marino wool top, describing the bargain buy as “insane”.

“The value on Aldi special buys is absolutely unmatched. Swear this isn’t an ad for merino wool LOL im just a fan. Sponsor me tho,” she captioned her clip.

She recorded a video from her car showing off her items after leaving the store.

“If you’re a snow girly or just generally planning going to the snow this year, go to Aldi because they have just released their snow range.”

“Last season my boyfriend paid $100 for a pure Merino top from the snow shop. Tell me why when I just bought this for $35 — insane. Merino wool is so good because not only does it properly keep you warm but it also keeps you cool when the sun comes out, so it just regulates your temperature.”

She also nabbed a pair of thermal leggings to go under her snow pants, a zip top and women’s sweat pants for $40 each.

“So worth it (because) it would have been about $150 from the snow shop,” she added.

She managed to score a thermal top and leggings for her partner and pure Merino wool socks for the both of them for $10 each.

Another customer who shopped at the Aldi store in Auburn in Western Sydney described scenes as a “bit of chaos”.

However, she and her partner were able to get exactly what they needed after turning up to the store before the doors opened.

Aldi may still have some items left if you’re in luck.

Those looking to get kitted with the essentials for two adults and two kids including all outerwear, gloves, goggles, helmets, thermoboots and kids knitted accessories, can do so for less than $750.

For the kids, there’s the Toddler’s Snow Suit for $34.99 and there’s even “mini-me” designs that include matching sets for adults and kids.

The sizing for teens and young adults has also been extended to give more options for those growing up, and a new Adult’s Quarter Zip Snow Hoodie ($49.99) has been added to the range for less than $50.
