Digicel national football head coach, Rob Sherman, plans to keep Samoa guessing in their next group match of the OFC Nations Cup.

Speaking yesterday to SUNsports after their 5-1 win over Papua New Guinea at the HFC Bank Stadium, Suva, Sherman said this does not mean they’re underestimating the Samoans.

“The formation was changed in the second half to 4:4:2 to 4:5:1 from 3:4:3,” he said.

“We’ll make adoptions to how Samoa plays but we won’t be taking them lightly at all since it’s a crime in football.”

They face Samoa on Wednesday at 7pm.

Sherman said their dominant performance was a collective effort from the players and he was pleased with their solid defence.

“Age is not a barrier if you’re good enough, you’re old enough,” he said.

Sherman made the comment in regards to Thomas Dunn and Nabil Begg performance in attack while Sterling Vasconcellos was solid defence.

“The fans can expect us to give our hundred percent, we respect the opposition and we’ll do our best to win the game,” he said.

Fiji captain Roy Krishna said they cannot afford to get carried away with the win.

“Samoa is a good team, we just need to regroup, get our basics right and focus on the next game.

“I tried to give my best, whatever I can for the team but it’s a team sport and the young ones stood up.”

Roy dedicated the win to the fans that turned up to support them.

“We need to be more composed with our attack and defence,” he added.
