Meet our lovable pets of the week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Archey, Sunny and Boss are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below!

Birds of the Week: Archey and Sunny

Introducing our two marvellous Sun Conjures. A species originating in South America, they feature not just gorgeous plumage but character traits and quirks that most other household pets demonstrate.

These two are a couple of highly active, charming clowns. They will always come to the front of the cage or climb up to face height if they’ve been scratching on the cage floor because they love human attention.

Best of all, they are hand-tame, which means they’ll gladly come out, stroll up your arm and plant themselves, together, on your shoulder, where they’ll perform their best song renditions in high volume, surround sound.

They’re very fond of each other as well. Even in a large cage, they’re often close or next to each other; sometimes, they form a heart shape by way of coming face-to-face and holding their position.

Experienced bird owners will know the delight of having birds like Archey and Sunny as pets. They require an owner familiar with the breed and a spacious cage for them to dazzle you with their playful nature.

Dog of the Week: Boss

Boss is a handsome youngster who’s desperately in need of a new owner who can teach him all the tricks he’s missed out on so far.

He came to us raw, not having experienced any training, but as with all dogs at RSPCA ACT, our staff and volunteers have taken the challenge to mould this beautiful boy into a great pet.

He’s clever and has already learned to show his soft side. He’ll gladly let you approach and take a treat off you. He loves to play as well.

We just know there’s a wonderful owner or family out there reading this who can adopt Boss and experience the joy of loving a dog who will reciprocate the love tenfold.

Pawnotes: Great news this week with two of our perfect adult dogs, Nova and Dixie, finding their forever homes. We often have puppies available and they get adopted quickly, but it’s especially rewarding when our adult dogs are adopted! Thanks, Canberra.

Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!
