It will be a matter of time Hurricanes winger Salesi Rayasi could be playing for the Flying Fijians. This was after French club RC Vannes confirmed that they have signed Rayasi on.

The 27-year-old’s first priority was to play for the All Blacks while being contracted with the Hurricanes. So moving to France, frees him from that commitment.

During an interview with SUNsports in April, Rayasi indicated he was willing to play for the Flying Fijians if approached.

Rayasi’s dad Filipe played 13 Test matches for the Flying Fijians.

Rayasi has played 51 games, including 33 as a starter and scoring 30 tries, in Super Rugby with the Hurricanes. He also played for Auckland in NPC, scoring 40 tries in 52 matches. His athletic qualities combined with his scoring profile have also allowed him to be selected several times by the New Zealand rugby 7s team. His two-season commitment to RC Vannes will allow him to have his first experience abroad.
