Pacific Specialist Healthcare’s (PSH) birthing facility at its new hospital in Nadi is every expectant mother’s dream.

PSH boasts the facilities which match any birthing facility around the world with each room built and equipped with all the necessities to cater for both mother and father of the newborn to stay.

“It is like a home away from home,” PSH managing director Parvish Kumar said.

“At PSH, we provide you with the best in medical care complimented with a luxurious and healing atmosphere and accommodation to ensure your stay here is as comfortable as possible.”

PSH is proud that all the birthing crew are females and headed by leading obstetrician and gynecologist Dr Tui Taoi, who has more than 40 years of experience in the field.

“So when the wife comes in for birthing, the couple is trained as to what to expect, including how to properly look after the baby post-birthing,” Mr Kumar said.

“The fathers are allowed in, including being part of the birthing team during labour, delivery and post-delivery.

“They will have their own room which is luxurious and are five-star and equipped with modern conveniences with both receiving three meals daily while staying here.”

Mr Kumar said some couples preferred all female crew and the hospital had done this for their privacy and comfort.

“The husband can stay here during this period and go to work and come back in the afternoon to see his wife and child at the hospital,” he said.

“Meanwhile, the feedbacks from couples who have used this facility have been amazing.”

One other standout feature is if couples have difficulty paying full amount upfront, they can come in and use the facility and then pay in installments.

Decompression chamber

A new and advanced decompression chamber will be commissioned in a week and will be the only facility available in the Western Division.

With one at CWM Hospital, this one at PSH Nadi is timely as Nadi is the hub of the tourism industry and this facility is vital for the diving tourism industry.

This service is available to anyone from around Fiji and will also be used as a process to expedite the healing of wounds including amputees.
