The NewWorld IGA Suva Netball Association launched its 2024 season with a dazzling knockout championship at the National Netball Centre in Suva.  “With renewed sponsorship from NewWorld IGA, we are poised for an exhilarating year, and the knockout was just the beginning,” said Suva Netball Association president Alumeci Sachs in her opening remarks.

She expressed pride in NewWorld IGA’s long-standing partnership with Suva Netball, reflecting their commitment to the community by sponsoring the association for over a decade. Seini Tikomaiyevo, manager of the NewWorld IGA Nausori branch and representative of the major sponsor, praised all participating teams and congratulated them for keeping the passion alive.

After witnessing all the grade finals, she expressed confidence in the bright future of netball in Fiji.

Twelve (12) clubs have registered to compete in the SNA League over the next 15 weeks.
The knockout championship title has been fiercely contested over the past four years between Alumni Netball, CBM Netball, Tagimoucia Netball, and Lomaiviti.

In a nail-biting knockout finale, Lomaiviti Ovalau defended their title in a thrilling match against CBM in the Open Women’s grade.

In the Open Men’s grade, Tiki Tui emerged victorious, defeating CBM and stamping their mark as the kings of the court.

The Development Grade saw Grass Hoppers One triumph after a hard-fought battle against Lomaiviti Koro in the finals.

The knockout competition also showcased our national squad members, who were well distributed among the clubs as they fought tooth and nail until the dust settled at the NNC.  The Suva Netball season promises unparalleled excitement as clubs add competitive fire to the weekly matches kicking off today at the National Netball Centre. Let the games begin!
