The Oceania Fibreglass Navua football side, are determined to end their Digicel Fiji Fact title drought after they upset Ba, 2-0, in the second semi-final.

Navua faces defending champions, Lautoka, in the grand final at 1pm at Subrail Park in Labasa tomorrow.

Riding high on their pool games showing, Navua continued the superb form with striker, Jackson Wale and Rahul Krishna, keeping Ba on their feet.

National Fiji Football rep, Thomas Dunn scored the first goal in the 30th minute after combining well with his teammates.

Attacker, Rahul Krishna extended his tournament goal tally to three goals.

Krishna hammered in the second goal in the second half which sealed the win.

Navua coach, Saiyad Ali, said the win and performance of his players had exceeded his expectations.

Ali said credited Ba for giving them a tough game.

He said his players made wise use of ball possession and captalised on Ba’s weaknesses.

“Our team targeted the midfield and we observed Ba were weak in the midfield area.”

Ali said the desire and hunger to win against Ba was evident in the faces of his players.

The no-nonsense coach said they defence remains a key weapon heading into the final.

“We are happy not to concede any goal in the tournament, and we hope to keep this going,” he said.

When approached on the game against Lautoka, Ali said they expect another big encounter.

He has high hopes to win the title after last hoisting the title in 2009.

On that occasion in 2009, Navua beat Lautoka, 2-1 in extra time.

The Navuans aim to win their fourth title in the tournament’s history.

Ba coach, Daniel Krishneel, was emotional and did not wish to comment after the loss.
