Former Fiji light heavyweight champion Savenaca Naliva is confident of maintaining his winning running in the cruiserweight division.

The 37-year-old is taking on Sebastian Singh for the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) Asia Pacific cruiserweight title at the Vodafone Arena in Suva on Saturday, June 22.

Naliva, who is dubbed ‘Lightning’ has called on his boxing supporters to be at the Arena in this most important fight of his career.

“I’ve prepared well for the fight and I need your support,” he said.

The hard hitting Sorokoba, Ba, native relinquished the Fiji light heavyweight title since he could not meet the required weight limit.

Naliva has won his last two fights against Isikeli Senidoko and Kolinio Luvelolo. He also recorded knockout wins over Joseph Kwadjo, Opeti Tagi, Vitori Natawake, Sakiusa Mekemeke and Simione Tui. Naliva fought former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) world super middleweight champion Renold Quinlan where he lost.

According to Box Rec, Singh has a proud record of 14 wins, 7 losses and 3 draws. He is one of the very few Fiji boxers who have an impressive winning record in Australia.

The 30-year-old Singh like Naliva had lost narrowly on points against Fiji cruiserweight champion Alivereti Kauyaca and they have been after a rematch.
