The Nasinu Secondary School Under-16 girls’ rugby side came out victorious against Naitasiri Secondary School 15-5 in their Weet-Bix Raluve Trophy clash in Suva on Saturday.

NSS head coach Tevita Damudamu said despite the win they would need to improve their performance before the next game.

“There were a lot of improvements that need to be done by the players,” he said.

“Naitasiri Secondary made us run for our money but I’m grateful the girls held on.”

The side put on a valiant effort to keep the highlanders at bay at the final moments of the game. Damudamu said there are strategies they need to work on their preparations for the next match but first they need to improve on their mistakes.

“We made silly mistakes in the game which was costly.

“The girls need to work together because that is the only way we will win. Discipline is also an area we will work on and it should be ironed out before the quarter-finals,” he said.

Damudamu highlighted that the competition is very competitive compared to last year.
