“We have been inspired to build this facility for all the body of Christ. We are grateful that God has chosen us to do this.

The All Nations Christian Fellowship (ANCF) is embarking to build a church that can cater for a congregation of 40,000 people.

That was revealed by ANCF general superintendent, Reverend Epeli Ratabacaca during the church’s Epic Rugby Sevens tournament at Prince Charles Park, Nadi, last Friday.

Rev Ratabacaca said the tournament was a way to fundraise for the project.

“We have a 25-acre land to build this church facility. This facility will cater for 40,000 people,” he said.

He said the facility would be available for all Christian denominations’ events.

“We have been inspired to build this facility for all the body of Christ. We are grateful that God has chosen us to do this.

“This church facility that we build will not only for us but will be for other Christian denominations to use for the church conferences.

Rev Ratabacaca said sports grounds were not appropriate places for worship.

“The Methodist Church Conference was held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, and they nearly used half a million for a one-week conference.

“Those sports ground, and Vodafone Arena is not the house of God. We have seen that a lot of Christian annual conferences have been held at sports grounds. During rainy weather, members get wet and cold.

“This facility will be built for us to feel comfortable when worshipping God,” he said.
