Darcy died after the tinnie she was on crashed into another on the Hacking River at Grays Point, 10km west of Cronulla in Sydney’s south on January 26.

Witnesses even claim she was floating face down in the water for several minutes before she was pulled from the water.

Two 16-year-old boys, who were driving the tinnies, were taken to hospital for alcohol testing.

Darcy later died in St Georges Hospital hours later.

Mr Edwards wrote that he “did everything I could to try to save her life” adding that “neither of the boats involved were speeding or hooning”.
